Triple Four-Homer Feat Marks Home Run Leaders’ Highlight on August 29, 2025

SEATTLE (Aug. 29, 2025) - In a historic display of power on Friday, three sluggers joined baseball lore by each recording four home runs in a single season, and the race for the American League home run title continued to heat up.

Eugenio Suárez of the Arizona Diamondbacks, Nick Kurtz of the Oakland Athletics and Philadelphia Phillies’ Kyle Schwarber all accomplished the rare feat of hitting four homers in one game this season, marking the first time in Major League history that three players have done so in the same campaign. Suárez and Kurtz both reached the milestone earlier in the season, but Schwarber’s performance came most recently, propelling his season total to 49 and vaulting him into second place on the Phillies’ single-season franchise list behind Ryan Howard’s 58 in 2006.

Meanwhile, behind the plate in Seattle, Cal Raleigh maintained his stronghold on the American League home run leaderboard with 50 dingers in 131 games. Raleigh’s run tally gives him a one-home-run cushion over Philadelphia’s Kyle Schwarber (49) and puts him at the top of this year’s leaderboard as the Mariners chase the postseason.
