EA and Full Circle Confirm September 16 Early Access Launch for Skate

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. - Electronic Arts and developer Full Circle announced today that Skate, the long-anticipated reboot of the award-winning skateboarding franchise, will enter Early Access on September 16, 2025 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and the EA App.
In a press release issued this morning, EA emphasized that Skate will be free to download, support cross-platform play and cross-progression, and is designed as a live-service experience. Set in the vibrant open world of San Vansterdam, the game invites players to explore four distinct neighborhoods-Hedgemont, Gullcrest, Market Mile and Brickswich-each offering unique skate spots, challenges, and community-driven events.
“With Skate, our vision is to capture the freedom and creative expression of skateboarding,” said McCartney, producer at Full Circle. “We’ve rebuilt the Frostbite-powered Flick-It System for unparalleled realism and added a host of new tricks-like wallies, slappies, and firecrackers-to expand how fans can ride and create.” All narrative dialogue has been fully voiced to enhance immersion, and new in-game tools allow players to place ramps, rails, and obstacles anywhere to craft custom skate lines.
Skate adopts a free-to-play model with optional in-game purchases focused on cosmetic content, ensuring no pay-to-win elements. Early backers and community members will also have access to rotating world map challenges-such as Line Challenges, Own the Spot, and Sessions-and an innovative Spect mode to join live sessions instantly.
Pre-download for Skate’s Early Access launch will open next week on all supported platforms.
