Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Open Network Test Goes Live Today

Tokyo, August 29, 2025 (UTC+8) - Sega’s highly anticipated Open Network Test for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds officially launched today at 12:00 PM (UTC+8), offering fans a first hands-on opportunity to experience the game’s online and offline modes ahead of its full release.

Test Schedule and Platforms

The network test runs from August 29 at 12:00 PM until September 2 at 12:00 PM (UTC+8), and is available across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, Steam, and the Epic Games Store.

Available Modes

Offline:
- Grand Prix
- Time Trial
Online (unlocked after first Grand Prix):
- World Match (Aug 29-31 & Sept 1-2)
- Joker Festival (Aug 31-Sept 1), featuring team-based challenges and Festival Points to unlock temporary cosmetics.

Cross-Platform Play and Squads

All supported platforms feature full cross-play, allowing seamless matchmaking across systems. Players can also create Squads of up to four members for private lobbies and cooperative events.

Participation Bonus

Participants in the Open Network Test will receive two exclusive decals and the “Open Network Test Racer” title upon the game’s official launch, provided they use the same account and platform during both the test and full release.

Technical Notes

As the game remains under development, testers may encounter crashes or other technical issues. Progress and save data from the test will not carry over to the final version of the game.

Language and Accessibility

Subtitles are offered in 13 languages-including English, Japanese, French, and Portuguese (Brazil)-with audio tracks in Japanese, English, French, Italian, German, and Spanish. Nintendo Switch users can select non-system text languages via in-game options.

Gamers have until September 2 at 12:00 PM (UTC+8) to download the test client from their platform’s digital store and join the global race for a chance to help refine Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds’ online functionality before its full launch.
