Taco Bell Unveils Decades Y2K Menu Featuring Fan-Favorite 2000s Items

August 29, 2025 (Nationwide) - Taco Bell today announced the launch of its Decades Y2K Menu, bringing back five beloved menu items from the late 1990s and early 2000s to restaurants across the United States, tapping into the current wave of Y2K nostalgia.

The limited-time menu, available beginning September 9, 2025, will include:

  • Cool Ranch Doritos Locos Taco: A crisp Cool Ranch Doritos shell filled with seasoned beef, lettuce, and cheddar cheese.
  • Double Decker Taco: A soft tortilla layered with refried beans wrapped around a classic hard-shell taco filled with beef, lettuce, and cheese.
  • 7-Layer Burrito: A vegetarian favorite stocked with seasoned beans, rice, sour cream, guacamole, lettuce, tomatoes, and three-cheese blend wrapped in a flour tortilla.
  • Chili Cheese Burrito: A hearty flour tortilla packed with chili and melted cheddar cheese.
  • Caramel Apple Empanada: A flaky pastry stuffed with warm apple filling and creamy caramel, available early exclusively for Rewards members September 2-8.

Each item will be priced at $3 or less, reinforcing Taco Bell’s strategy of offering nostalgic value at an accessible price point. In addition, Taco Bell will introduce a new $9 Discovery Luxe Box featuring the Crunchwrap Supreme alongside a Cool Ranch Doritos Locos Taco and other classic items.

Taylor Montgomery, Taco Bell’s Chief Marketing Officer, said, “No one did the 2000s like Taco Bell. That era gave us some of our most iconic menu items, including the Crunchwrap Supreme, which remains one of our best-sellers two decades later. Fans have never stopped asking for these items, and honestly, we’ve missed them too”.

To amplify fan engagement, Taco Bell is launching Crunchkin, a digital companion inspired by Tamagotchis that grows as customers purchase Decades Y2K items and unlocks in-app mini-games and rewards. The chain will also offer weekly Y2K-themed merchandise drops in collaboration with Ed Hardy, including hats, digital watches, and vintage-style T-shirts.

This menu revival follows Taco Bell’s successful Decades promotions in 2024 and aligns with broader cultural trends celebrating Y2K aesthetics in fashion, music, and media.
