Amber Alert Issued for Missing Child in Upper Marlboro, Maryland

An AMBER Alert was issued on Saturday, August 30, 2025, after 36-year-old Shannon Collins and his 1-year-old daughter, Day-Rene Garris Collins, were reported missing in Upper Marlboro, Maryland.

Prince George’s County Police announced that the pair were last seen at approximately 10:15 a.m. in the 4200 block of Captain Perry Court. Shannon Collins is described as a 6-foot-1-inch Black male weighing about 215 pounds, last seen wearing gray sweatpants. Day-Rene Garris Collins was wearing a white onesie at the time of her disappearance.

Authorities believe the two may be traveling in a gray 2022 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport bearing Maryland license plate 8GK3445. Members of the public were urged not to approach the vehicle or its occupants but to immediately dial 911 with any information. The alert remains active and anyone with details on their whereabouts is asked to contact Prince George’s County Police.
