Injustice 3 Development Confirmed by Voice Actors

August 30, 2025 | HOUSTON

In what may be the most concrete evidence yet of a new entry in the DC fighting game franchise, two of Injustice’s most recognizable voice actors have publicly revealed their involvement in Injustice 3. During separate fan interactions at recent conventions, Phil LaMarr (Green Lantern) and George Newbern (Superman) each confirmed that they are currently recording lines for the next installment in NetherRealm Studios’ series.

LaMarr reportedly made the announcement while signing a fan’s Injustice 2 steelbook at Nostalgia Con in Houston. Upon returning the signed item, he casually remarked, “You know, they’re making another one. They’re doing Injustice 3”. Shortly thereafter, George Newbern shared with another fan that he, too, is “currently working on Injustice 3,” further cementing the game’s development status.

The original Injustice (2013) and its sequel (2017) earned critical acclaim for their blend of DC lore and polished fighting mechanics. With the studio returning focus to its other flagship franchise following the conclusion of Mortal Kombat 1’s post-launch support, fans have eagerly awaited news of the next Injustice title.

Voice recording typically occurs during the mid-stages of game production, suggesting that NetherRealm Studios has moved well beyond pre-production. While no release window has been officially announced, industry patterns and early development timelines hint at a potential 2028 launch.

As the DC fighting universe prepares to expand, these revelations offer the first verifiable glimpse into the future of Injustice. An official announcement from NetherRealm Studios is expected later this year.
