Rookidee Community Day Takes Flight Across the Globe

Trainers worldwide flocked to the streets on Saturday, August 30, 2025, as Rookidee Community Day brought three hours of in-game excitement and special bonuses to Pokémon GO.

Event Overview

From 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time, the Tiny Bird Pokémon Rookidee soared into the spotlight with dramatically increased spawn rates in the wild. Lucky Trainers encountered shiny Rookidee variants, while evolving a Corvisquire into Corviknight during the event - or up until 10:00 p.m. local time on September 6 - unlocked the exclusive Flying-type Charged Attack Air Cutter in PvP and raid battles.

Bonuses and Perks

Community Day participants benefited from a suite of event bonuses:

  • 1/4 Egg Hatch Distance for eggs placed in incubators during the event window.
  • 2x Candy for each Pokémon catch.
  • 2x chance for Candy XL for Trainers level 31 and above when catching Pokémon.
  • 3-hour duration for Lure Modules (excluding Golden Lure Modules) and Incense (excluding Daily Adventure Incense).
  • Reduced Stardust cost (50% less) for Special Trades and one additional Special Trade permitted from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m..

Research and Special Offers

Event-themed Field Research tasks rewarded Trainers with encounters of Rookidee (often with Delightful Days-themed special backgrounds), Stardust, Poké Balls, and Berries. For US $1.99 (or local equivalent), Trainers could purchase the Community Day-exclusive Special Research, which granted:

  • Three encounters with Rookidee featuring a special background,
  • One Premium Battle Pass,
  • One Rare Candy XL,
  • Additional Rookidee encounters.

Following the event, a week-long Timed Research challenge offered further special-background encounters and boosted shiny odds, expiring on September 6 at 10:00 p.m. local time.

Community Engagement

In-game and web-store bundles catered to diverse playstyles. Two special item bundles were available for PokéCoins, and an Ultra Community Day Box featuring Max Potions and a Special Research ticket was sold on the Pokémon GO Web Store. Community Ambassadors and local parks served as hubs for group gatherings, encouraging social play and coordination.

-The Pokémon GO team encourages Trainers to stay aware of their surroundings and continue sharing screenshots of their Rookidee captures and Corviknight evolutions on social media.
