Wizard of Oz at Sphere Tickets Sell Out Amid Soaring Resale Prices

August 30, 2025 | LAS VEGAS

All scheduled showings of The Wizard of Oz at Sphere for August 30 have officially sold out as of this morning, the venue’s ticketing partner iGoVegas reported that no standard or VIP tickets remain available for any of the 11:00 am, 2:00 pm, or 5:00 pm performances.

Originally priced from $104 at launch on June 10, tickets for this fully immersive retelling of the 1939 classic filled the venue’s 17,600 seats within days of going on sale, buoyed by Sphere’s 160,000 sq ft LED display, haptic seating, environmental effects, and custom scents.

Secondary-market prices have more than quadrupled since the premiere. SeatGeek listings show resale tickets starting at $129, with many listings exceeding $400 for central seating. Fans venting on Reddit described the high prices as “too steep for a movie” despite acknowledging the Sphere’s unparalleled audio‐visual spectacle.

Sphere Entertainment Co. executives had forecasted total ticket sales for the run to reach 200,000 by opening night, citing strong demand that could push Sphere attendance above 10% of all Las Vegas visitors this summer. With “Wizard of Oz” extending its run indefinitely, additional showtimes and expanded capacity options are expected to be announced soon.
