YouTube TV Missing from Google TV Live Tab; Google Acknowledges Issue

August 30, 2025 - A significant number of Google TV users are reporting that YouTube TV has disappeared from the Live tab on their devices today. Subscribers browsing for live channels on their Google TV home screens find the Live tab no longer lists YouTube TV alongside other streaming services, preventing easy access to live programming.

Google’s support team has confirmed the problem and is actively investigating. In a post on the official Google TV Help forum, the company stated, “We’re aware that many users are currently unable to see YouTube TV in their Live tab on Google TV. We’re looking into this and will post updates as soon as we have more information”.

Despite the missing shortcut in the Live tab, YouTube TV itself remains operational. No widespread outages or streaming interruptions have been reported across major outage-monitoring sites, and subscribers can still access live content by opening the YouTube TV app directly.

Users affected by the issue are advised to:

  • Relaunch their Google TV devices and check for any available system or app updates.
  • Open the YouTube TV app directly via the Apps menu instead of the Live tab.
  • Monitor the Google TV Help forum for official updates and workarounds as Google continues its investigation.

Google has not yet provided a timeline for resolving the issue but reassured subscribers that restoring YouTube TV to the Live tab is a top priority. Updates will be communicated through the support forum and may roll out via automatic device updates in the coming days.
