California Lottery Update - August 31, 2025

LOS ANGELES (Aug. 31, 2025) - The California Lottery reported no jackpot winners in the big Powerball drawing held Saturday night, leaving the advertised prize at an unprecedented $1 billion, with a cash‐option estimated at $453.1 million.

Officials certified Saturday’s winning numbers as 3, 18, 22, 27, 33 with the red Powerball 17. Despite record‐setting sales driven by holiday weekend play, no ticket matched all six numbers. Six tickets across the country hit all five white balls and claimed $1 million prizes, while 62 other tickets won $50,000 or more during the 39‐drawing streak since a California winner last hit the jackpot on May 31.

The next Powerball drawing will take place Tuesday, September 2, at 7:00 p.m. PT. California players must purchase tickets by 7:00 p.m. on drawing days. Powerball tickets are sold at retailers statewide for $2 per play, with proceeds supporting California public education.
