Cleveland National Air Show Delivers Thrilling Day-Two Spectacle

CLEVELAND, OHIO - On Sunday, August 31, the second day of the 2025 Cleveland National Air Show unfolded under clear skies at Burke Lakefront Airport, drawing tens of thousands of spectators for another round of high-octane aerial displays.

The U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds once again headlined the program, executing precision formation flights in their red, white and blue F-16 Fighting Falcons. Flying as close as three feet apart and reaching speeds near 500 mph, the Thunderbirds thrilled crowds lining the Lake Erie shoreline.

In a much-anticipated debut, the Red Bull Air Force took to the skies with aerobatic helicopters performing inverted loops and knife-edge passes. Solo aerobatic ace Kirby Chambliss and the Red Bull skydiving team also wowed audiences with gravity-defying maneuvers.

Military demonstrations on Sunday included a tactical display by the U.S. Navy F/A-18 Super Hornet and a low-altitude flyover from an Air National Guard F-15 Eagle. The U.S. Army Golden Knights parachute team delivered a colorful canopy sequence over the runway, while the Hot Streak II jet truck raced a T-6 Texan biplane down the tarmac.

Ground attractions maintained their popular draw, featuring interactive STEM exhibits, static aircraft tours and drone demonstrations by the Lake Erie Drone Club. Advance ticket and parking sales ensured smooth entry for the estimated 80,000 attendees who flocked to the Labor Day weekend tradition, which annually generates economic benefits for Northeast Ohio.

Day three’s finale on Labor Day Monday will feature encore performances by the Thunderbirds and Red Bull Air Force, with the show concluding at 4:30 p.m. on September 1.
