John Fogerty Features in New Interview and Television Segment on August 31, 2025

LONDON / NEW YORK, August 31, 2025 - Legendary rock singer-songwriter John Fogerty took center stage today with two major media appearances celebrating his reclaimed musical legacy.
In London, El País published an extensive interview with the 80-year-old Rock & Roll Hall of Famer, in which Fogerty reflected on his decades-long battle to regain the publishing rights to his Creedence Clearwater Revival catalog. Speaking from a Soho hotel, he said the new Legacy: The Creedence Clearwater Revival Years album represents a “full-circle moment” now that he “fully owns the rights to my own songs.” He credited his renewed joy in performing those classics to playing them alongside his family band and offered this advice to aspiring artists: secure competent legal representation before signing any contracts and work only with people you trust.
Meanwhile in New York, CBS News’s “Sunday Morning” aired a feature segment titled “John’s Version,” in which Fogerty discussed his process of re-recording iconic hits like “Proud Mary,” “Bad Moon Rising,” and “Fortunate Son” for Legacy. The broadcast highlighted how buying back his masters allowed him to celebrate his life’s work on his own terms, marking his first televised reflection on the project since its August 22 release.
