Michigan State Fair Thrills Visitors on August 31, 2025

Novi, MI - On Sunday, August 31, 2025, the Michigan State Fair continued its Labor Day weekend celebration at the Suburban Collection Showplace, drawing enthusiastic crowds for a full day of family fun, live entertainment, and new attractions.
The fairgrounds opened at 10:00 a.m. and kept gates open until 8:00 p.m., offering guests access to carnival rides, agricultural exhibits, and a variety of specialty shows. Attendance remained strong, with thousands of fairgoers enjoying:
- Dialed Action Big Air Stunt Show, featuring gravity-defying BMX and FMX performances on a custom ramp.
- Sea Lion Splash, an aquatic animal demonstration combining comedy, choreography, and audience interaction.
- World of Wonders & Museum of Marvels, a sideshow retrospective with live sword swallowers, fire eaters, and unique curiosities.
- Friday Night Flights Beer Festival, pairing craft brews with live music on the main stage.
- Classic attractions such as pig races, giant pumpkin displays, and the state’s beloved butter cow sculpture.
Food vendors reported brisk sales of fresh-squeezed lemonade, hand-dipped corn dogs, and other fair staples. “There’s nothing like gathering with friends and family at the fair,” said Renee Bain-Keene, longtime proprietor of the Great American Grill stand. “We’re proud to serve up memories as much as meals.”
Fair Manager Blair Bowman emphasized the event’s focus on safety. Enhanced security measures implemented on Friday-surveillance cameras, bag checks, and a policy requiring minors to be accompanied by adults-remained in place throughout Sunday to ensure a smooth experience for all attendees.
Live music performances took place on the Community & Cultural Stage, featuring regional acts throughout the afternoon. Meanwhile, livestock barns welcomed visitors interested in prize-winning dairy cows, sheep, and poultry exhibitions judged by state agricultural experts.
Sunday’s weather cooperated with clear skies and pleasant temperatures, contributing to a festive atmosphere. The Michigan State Fair will conclude on Monday, September 1, with gates open from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Admission remains $10 per person, with ride and show add-ons available for purchase online or at the box office.
