Motorheads Canceled by Amazon Prime Video, Producers Seek New Home

August 31, 2025 - Amazon Prime Video has officially opted not to renew its young-adult racing drama Motorheads for a second season, the streaming service confirmed this weekend. The show, which premiered on May 2 and followed twin siblings Zac and Caitlyn as they navigate first loves and street racing in rural Pennsylvania, will conclude after its initial 10-episode run.
Fan Campaigns and Future Prospects Despite its cancellation, Motorheads has cultivated a passionate fan base that has mounted social-media campaigns to revive the series on another network. Executive producer Jason Seagraves remarked, “Our intention was to create a heartfelt show with no hidden agendas…their enthusiasm has energized us, and we’re optimistic we’ll find a home that believes in and supports the show.” Producers are actively shopping the series to potential new outlets.
Performance Metrics While Motorheads earned a 78% critic rating on Rotten Tomatoes and a 95% audience score, its overall viewership failed to secure a spot in Nielsen’s weekly Top 10 streaming rankings. The series did appear on Luminate’s Top 50 chart for five weeks, peaking at No. 19 with 3.29 million hours viewed during the week of May 23. On Prime Video’s own platform, it reached No. 1 globally upon release but saw declines thereafter.
Cast and Creative Team Created by John A. Norris, Motorheads stars Michael Cimino, Melissa Collazo, Ryan Phillippe, and Nathalie Kelley. The series was executive-produced by Seagraves alongside Matt Brunetti, Keegan Rosenberger, and others, with Neil Burger directing the pilot.
Cliffhangers Left Unresolved The Season 1 finale ended on two major cliffhangers: a devastating crash during a nighttime street race and a cryptic call from the twins’ absent father. With cancellation, these storylines remain unresolved-though fans remain hopeful that a new network will pick up where Amazon left off.
