Disney Unveils New Teaser Trailer for Tron: Ares on August 31, 2025

Orlando, FL - Disney released another action-packed 60-second teaser trailer for Tron: Ares today, offering fans a deeper glimpse into the upcoming sci-fi sequel. Directed by Joachim Rønning, the film stars Jared Leto as Ares, a sophisticated digital program sent from the Grid into the real world on a perilous mission.

“We gave them minds. We gave them bodies. We gave them the power to destroy us… or protect us,” teases the new footage, which showcases Ares’s emergence into reality and hints at humanity’s first true encounter with sentient A.I. beings.

In conjunction with the teaser launch, Disney announced that both Tron (1982) and Tron: Legacy (2010) will be reissued on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray SteelBook editions on September 16, 2025. The Tron: Legacy release promises upgraded de-aging effects for Jeff Bridges’s Kevin Flynn, addressing past criticisms of the original digital rejuvenation.

Tron: Ares is set to premiere in theaters on October 10, 2025. The film reunites Jeff Bridges as Kevin Flynn alongside Jared Leto, with supporting performances from Greta Lee, Evan Peters, Jodie Turner-Smith, and Cameron Monaghan. Industrial rock pioneers Nine Inch Nails return to the franchise to score the film, infusing the soundtrack with their signature pulsating synths and distorted textures.
