Apple iPhone 17 Pro Max Design Leaks Surface Ahead of September 9 Event

Cupertino, September 1, 2025 - In the final week of speculation before Apple’s “Awe-dropping” keynote, fresh leaks detailing the iPhone 17 Pro Max’s design have emerged today, offering the clearest look yet at the flagship’s upcoming features.
A set of official-looking Apple cases shared by leak specialist Evan Blass reveals the redesigned rear camera module for both the Pro and Pro Max models. The cutouts confirm a wider, rectangular camera island-an evolution from the vertical camera bar seen on the iPhone 16 Pro Max-and accommodate both the new Action button and Camera Control wheel. The cases also reaffirm Apple’s shift to a half-glass, half-aluminum chassis and hint at an enlarged MagSafe coil highlighted in white, suggesting improved magnetic alignment for accessories and faster wireless charging.
Meanwhile, tipster “Majin Bu” on X leaked images of Apple’s clear case for the Pro lineup, exposing three major design changes specific to the Pro Max:
- Expanded Camera Island: The clear case outlines a camera island that spans nearly the entire width of the top half of the rear panel, though precise lens placement remains unseen.
- Revamped MagSafe System: The classic concentric MagSafe circle has been replaced by a bold line-and-circle graphic, indicating a new alignment mechanism and stronger magnetic hold.
- Crossbody Strap Support: Small magnetic attachment points on the case suggest official support for a forthcoming Crossbody Strap accessory, enabling users to wear the phone hands-free and offering color-matched lanyard options.
With Apple’s event set for September 9 at the Steve Jobs Theater in Cupertino, these case leaks provide the most detailed preview to date of the iPhone 17 Pro Max’s physical design. Consumers can expect pre-orders to begin on September 12 and first shipments to arrive September 19.
