The Chrisleys Return to Television with “Back to Reality” Premiere

Atlanta, GA - On Monday, September 1, “The Chrisleys: Back to Reality” made its much-anticipated television debut with a two-hour premiere on Lifetime. The new docuseries chronicles Todd and Julie Chrisley’s life following their presidential pardon in May 2025 and reunification with their family after serving more than two years in federal prison for bank fraud and tax evasion.
In the opening episode, viewers saw intimate footage of the Chrisleys as they navigated their first days at home. Todd Chrisley reflected on how prison reshaped his outlook: “I now have a much clearer vision of where I want my life to head… I find that many matters that seemed important before now hold less significance”. Julie Chrisley, reunited with her husband and their children, candidly shared the emotional weight of reuniting after months apart.
Entertainment outlets noted that the series picks up where Chrisley Knows Best left off, documenting both the family’s legal odyssey and their effort to rebuild normalcy. In an exclusive interview promoting the series, Todd revealed how his marriage to Julie endured despite 28 months of separation behind bars. “I never felt, and this is the weirdest way of saying this, but I was never in my mind away from her,” he told Fox News Digital.
Lifetime will continue to air new two-hour installments on Tuesday nights, with the second part of the premiere set for September 2 at 8/7c. The season finale is scheduled for September 16, promising an inside look at both the Chrisleys’ private struggles and their public comeback.
