Nintendo Unveils Kirby and the Forgotten Land - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Star-Crossed World

September 1, 2025 - Nintendo today released Kirby and the Forgotten Land - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Star-Crossed World, an enhanced version of the 2022 platformer for its newest console, the Nintendo Switch 2. This special edition adds a brand-new narrative, upgraded visuals, and fresh gameplay mechanics tailored to the more powerful hardware of the Switch 2.

In Star-Crossed World, Kirby must investigate a mysterious meteor strike that has transformed familiar landscapes into dazzling “Starry Stages.” Players will guide Kirby through previously inaccessible areas to collect magical Starries and thwart a new evil unleashed by the cosmic impact.

Key enhancements include:

• Three new Mouthful Modes-Spring Mouth, Gear Mouth, and Sign Mouth-expanding Kirby’s signature copy abilities.
• Remastered graphics and faster frame rates optimized for the Switch 2’s display and high-resolution output.
• A revamped Colosseum challenge called “The Ultimate Cup Z EX,” plus additional in-game figures obtainable from the Gotcha Machine EX.

Nintendo confirmed that the update is available immediately via both physical cartridges compatible with Switch 2 and digital download through the Nintendo eShop. Players can experience the new content by connecting to the internet and performing a system update, ensuring seamless integration with the console’s GameChat and GameShare features.
