Lifetime Docuseries “The Chrisleys: Back to Reality” Premieres with Raw Family Reunion

September 1, 2025, NASHVILLE - Tonight, Lifetime premiered the first two episodes of The Chrisleys: Back to Reality, offering audiences an unvarnished look at Todd and Julie Chrisley’s life following their high-profile convictions and subsequent pardon.

The two-hour debut, broadcast as part of a special two-night event on Monday and Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET/PT, begins with Todd and Julie’s release from federal prison after receiving presidential pardons. Viewers witness the emotional moment they finally reunite with daughter Savannah, son Chase, younger children Grayson and Chloe, and matriarch Nanny Faye as the family navigates life in the wake of scandal.

In the premiere’s most poignant scene, 13-year-old Chloe Chrisley confides in Savannah that living under the glare of cameras has made it impossible to pretend “life is normal” with their parents behind bars. A teary Savannah gently reminds her younger sister that “this time, it is not scripted,” underscoring the series’ promise of unfiltered access.

Tension quickly surfaces at the family dinner table, where Savannah and her grandfather, Harvey Hughes, clash over her political advocacy on behalf of her parents. Harvey presses why Savannah’s public efforts have yet to yield tangible results, prompting her to defend the incremental nature of building a pardon case.

Sibling friction also takes center stage. In a candid confession to the cameras, Savannah accuses brother Chase of failing to “pick up a single ounce of slack” during Todd and Julie’s incarceration, marking a significant departure from their once-inseparable bond. Chase acknowledges the rift, noting that airing grievances openly “is the only way to move past” their feud.

Produced by Bunim/Murray for Lifetime, The Chrisleys: Back to Reality continues tomorrow night at 8 p.m. ET/PT, with new episodes airing Tuesdays through September 16.
