T.J. Maxx to Remain Open on Labor Day Holiday

Boston, September 1, 2025 - Off-price retailer T.J. Maxx has confirmed that all of its U.S. locations will follow normal business hours on Labor Day, Monday, September 1. Unlike many competitors that close for the federal holiday, T.J. Maxx will welcome bargain hunters seeking end-of-summer clearance deals and early fall finds.
In a statement, the company emphasized its commitment to providing continuous access to its “treasure-hunt” shopping experience, noting that merchandise shipments arrive throughout the holiday season. “Since our inventory turns over several times a week, even a single day off could mean customers miss out on exciting new arrivals,” the spokesperson said.
Labor Day traditionally marks one of the final major clearance events before autumn merchandise rollout, and T.J. Maxx expects strong customer turnout as shoppers hunt for discounted apparel, home décor, and beauty items at 20%-60% below regular retail prices. Store hours will remain unchanged for the holiday.
With over 5,100 stores across nine countries under the TJX Companies umbrella, T.J. Maxx continues to leverage its off-price business model-sourcing from thousands of vendors worldwide-to drive traffic and deliver value every day.
