Universal Orlando Resort Sees Holiday Surge and Halloween Excitement on Labor Day

Today, Monday, September 1, 2025-coinciding with the Labor Day holiday-Universal Orlando Resort experienced a marked uptick in attendance as guests took advantage of the long weekend. Despite traditionally lighter crowds in September, the holiday brought back-to-school travelers and vacationers alike, contributing to busier-than-usual park conditions.

Universal’s newest addition, Epic Universe, continues to welcome crowds eager to explore its immersive lands and attractions. Meanwhile, Halloween Horror Nights 34 remains in full swing through November 2, with this year’s event featuring ten haunted houses-including Fallout, Jason Universe, Terrifier, Five Nights at Freddy’s, and The Horrors of the Wyatt Sicks-alongside themed scare zones, live shows, and specialty food offerings.

In operational news, Skull Island: Reign of Kong at Islands of Adventure remains closed for refurbishment, with a planned reopening on Thursday, September 4. Guests are reminded to check the Universal Orlando app for real-time updates on attraction availability.

Universal Passholder Appreciation Days also continue through September 30, offering passholders exclusive offers, giveaways, and special event access throughout the resort.

Looking ahead, Volcano Bay Nights begins this Friday, September 5, providing after-dark access to the water park with all-new Scooby-Doo-themed entertainment under the lava-lit skies.
