Arizona Lottery News Roundup - September 2, 2025

PHOENIX, Sept. 2, 2025 - The Arizona Lottery remains in the spotlight this Labor Day week, as officials report both soaring jackpots and notable unclaimed prizes.
Powerball Jackpot Climbs to $1.2 Billion Monday’s Powerball drawing produced no jackpot winner, pushing the estimated grand prize to $1.2 billion, making it the fifth-largest in Powerball history. The winning numbers for the September 1 drawing were 8, 23, 25, 40, 53, with a Powerball of 5. Players can choose a 30-year annuity or a cash lump-sum payout, currently estimated at $498.4 million.
Unclaimed $50,000 Prizes Remain In addition to the mega-jackpot buzz, the Arizona Lottery confirmed that five $50,000 prizes from the latest drawing remain unclaimed. Four of these winning tickets were sold in the Phoenix metro area-two in Surprise, one in Phoenix proper, and one in Avondale-while the fifth was purchased in Lake Havasu City.
