ATLANTA - Today, CNN International unveiled two major programming initiatives and delivered its daily news brief, CNN10, covering global relief efforts.
CNN Launches “Seasons” Multiplatform Series CNN today announced the debut of Seasons, a new multiplatform series exploring global trends in fashion, travel, cuisine, technology, design and art. The series premieres with an episode on Japan’s cultural creativity, featuring exclusive access to artist Takashi Murakami’s Tokyo studio and insights into traditional textile crafts. Seasonal digital content-vertical videos, explainers and gallery-style carousels-will roll out immediately, with a 30-minute quarterly special set to air September 6 on CNN International.
“Champions for Change” Returns for Ninth Year The network’s annual Champions for Change franchise is back, spotlighting eight CNN personalities who will share inspiring stories of social impact. Special programming kicks off September 7, leading up to a primetime event hosted by Dr. Sanjay Gupta on September 13. The week-long slate will feature in-depth profiles and documentary segments aimed at elevating grassroots initiatives worldwide.
CNN10 Highlights Major Relief Efforts On today’s edition of CNN10, anchor Koi Wire led with coverage of a 6.0-magnitude earthquake in eastern Afghanistan, where at least 800 people have died and thousands more are injured. Rescue teams are battling landslides and washed-out roads to reach remote communities, and neighboring China has pledged disaster relief assistance. Additional segments examined a flotilla delivering aid to Gaza and a proposed ban affecting a New York tourist landmark.
