Mark Harmon Returns to the Big Screen and Reflects on Industry Friendships

Los Angeles, September 2, 2025 - Veteran actor Mark Harmon is set to reprise a familiar role in the upcoming Disney sequel Freakier Friday, while also sharing insights into a long-standing professional relationship that helped shape another hit series.

In a surprise casting announcement, Harmon will join Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan in Freakier Friday as Ryan, the character who married Tess Coleman in the original 2003 film. His return to acting marks his first on-screen performance since narrating NCIS: Origins and fuels speculation that he could once again don the badge of Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs, potentially paving the way for a guest appearance in NCIS’ twenty-second season.

Meanwhile, in a separate feature, Harmon revealed how he played a pivotal behind-the-scenes role in actor Jim Beaver’s casting as Bobby Singer on the long-running series Supernatural. During a recent interview, Beaver credited Harmon’s endorsement early in his career for securing the role that would become one of the show’s most beloved supporting characters.
