Mega Millions Jackpot Rises to $302 Million Ahead of Tonight’s Drawing

Chicago (AP) - The Mega Millions jackpot climbed to an estimated $302 million with a cash option of $136 million as lottery fever grips the nation ahead of tonight’s drawing. The contest, held every Tuesday and Friday, will be televised live at 10 p.m. Central Time.

Officials confirmed that no ticket matched all six numbers in Friday’s drawing, causing the prize to swell once again. Players now have until 9 p.m. local time to purchase tickets for a chance at one of the largest jackpots of the year.

In the last drawing on August 29, the winning numbers were 13, 31, 32, 44, 45 and the Mega Ball was 21. The multistate lottery continues to offer nine other prize tiers, ranging from $10 for matching only the Mega Ball up to the jackpot.

Ticket sales have surged as hopeful contestants await tonight’s random selection, streamed live on YouTube and on participating television stations. Winners of the jackpot may choose between the advertised annuity or a one-time lump-sum cash payment, with the latter set at $136 million for this drawing.

Good luck to all and remember to check your numbers when the results are posted.
