Owen Shroyer Abruptly Quits InfoWars Amid Feud with Alex Jones

WASHINGTON, D.C., September 2, 2025 - Owen Shroyer, host of the War Room on the far-right platform InfoWars, announced his sudden departure Monday night following an on-air dispute with founder Alex Jones. Shroyer, 36, cited “creative restrictions” and accusations from Jones that he was “too anti-Trump” as the driving factors behind his exit.
Shroyer revealed the split during a five-hour livestream on X (formerly Twitter), describing the departure as “abrupt and emotionally difficult” after Jones allegedly told him not to return for the rest of the week. He said Jones repeatedly disrupted broadcasts, criticized his commentary as “negative” and “pessimistic,” and monitored his every move in the studio.
Having joined InfoWars in 2016, Shroyer became a key figure in the pro-MAGA media ecosystem. In his announcement, he lamented that he “couldn’t do what I wanted to do” under constant oversight, recounting how he “walked off the show mid-broadcast” last Thursday when tensions peaked.
In tandem with his departure, Shroyer launched a fundraising campaign on Givesendgo under organizer “Jonathon Shroyer,” aiming to raise $25,000 to support the creation of an independent news platform. By early Tuesday morning, the campaign had garnered over $18,000 in donations, according to the fundraiser page.
Analysts suggest Shroyer’s exit underscores growing fractures within the Trump-aligned media sphere, as some personalities clash over messaging and direction. His next moves could signal whether a new outlet can gain traction among the network of far-right audiences that InfoWars once dominated.
