Sentencing of “McBee Dynasty” Star Steve McBee Delayed by Federal Court

LINCOLN, Neb. - The anticipated sentencing of agriculture reality‐television figure and McBee Farming Operations owner Steve A. McBee was postponed today, Sept. 2, 2025, by the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri. Originally scheduled for Sept. 9, McBee’s sentencing has been rescheduled to Oct. 16, the court order stipulates.
The delay comes as federal prosecutors continue efforts to recover approximately $3.2 million in alleged proceeds from McBee’s admitted crop insurance fraud scheme. Under a bill of particulars filed Aug. 29, McBee has been ordered to forfeit three high‐end wristwatches-a Tag Heuer Formula 1, a Tag Heuer Grand Carrera and a Rolex Daytona-deemed traceable to illicit gains.
McBee, star of the reality series The McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys, pleaded guilty in late 2024 to one count of federal crop insurance fraud, admitting that between 2018 and 2020 he underreported corn and soybean yields to Rain and Hail (reinsured by the FCIC), resulting in roughly $2.6 million in improper insurance benefits and $553,000 in premium subsidies. The government has reported the total loss to USDA insurers at nearly $4 million.
Under the court’s brief order, both the prosecution and defense must submit sentencing memoranda by Oct. 6. McBee faces up to 30 years in prison, a maximum penalty for a Class B felony, though sentencing guidelines could recommend a lesser term given factors such as restitution and forfeiture efforts.
Representatives for McBee did not immediately respond to requests for comment. The October sentencing date will be closely watched by agribusiness observers and the reality‐television community alike.
