Veronika Slowikowska Joins “Saturday Night Live” as Featured Player

NEW YORK - Canadian comedian and actor Veronika Slowikowska was announced today as one of five new featured players joining the cast of NBC’s Saturday Night Live for its 51st season.

According to CNN, Slowikowska will debut alongside Tommy Brennan, Jeremy Culhane, Kam Patterson and Please Don’t Destroy’s Ben Marshall as the show prepares to return to air on October 4. Slowikowska, who boasts nearly 700,000 followers on TikTok, has also appeared in a recurring role on FX’s What We Do in the Shadows.

CBC News notes that the 29-year-old from Barrie, Ontario stands out as both the sole Canadian and the only woman among the Season 51 newcomers. Her rise to prominence stems from a blend of traditional acting credentials and viral sketch comedy videos on social media, where her absurdist, improvisational style has garnered widespread attention.

The addition of Slowikowska and her fellow newcomers follows the recent departures of Heidi Gardner, Michael Longfellow, Devon Walker and Emil Wakim after the close of Season 50. SNL’s 51st season is set to premiere live from Studio 8H on Saturday, October 4.
