Charlie Sheen Marks 60th Birthday with Reflections on Sobriety and New Projects

Los Angeles, CA - On Wednesday, September 3, 2025, actor Charlie Sheen celebrated his 60th birthday by reflecting on a tumultuous past and looking ahead to a busy fall schedule. In the cover story of this week’s People magazine, the former Two and a Half Men star opened up about achieving eight years of sobriety and shared glimpses of two major projects set for release later this month.

Sheen told People, “I have more days behind me than in front of me, and that’s fine. But I’m feeling pretty good!” He attributed his well-being to a disciplined fitness routine-rowing workouts and mostly healthy eating-and joked that his only physical complaint is “a bad shoulder that I have to take Advil for.”

Looking back, Sheen said that most of his 50s were spent “apologizing to the people I hurt.” Rather than paint himself as a victim, he insisted his forthcoming memoir, The Book of Sheen (out September 9), and the Netflix documentary aka Charlie Sheen (streaming September 10) represent “me finally telling the stories in the way they actually happened.”

In a candid interview with RadarOnline.com ahead of his milestone birthday, Sheen recalled the “rules” that governed the wildest years of his addiction: “Park your judgment at the door. No pain in the bedroom. And no one can die,” he said, noting that he has stuck to those rules-ironically-by never allowing himself another drink or drug since getting clean in 2017.

Sheen credited his five children-Cassandra (41), Sami (21), Lola (20), and the 16-year-old twins Max and Bob-with inspiring his turnaround. “You have to be willing,” he said of the choice to get sober, adding that he keeps “a mental list of the worst, most shameful things I’ve done” to stave off temptation.

While Sheen remains open to returning to acting, he emphasized that he isn’t calling this period a “comeback,” but rather a “reset” focused on living one day at a time. As he embarks on his seventh decade, Sheen appears determined to leave his past firmly behind and chart a new course centered on honesty, health, and family.
