Breaking: Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene Defies White House, Signs Discharge Petition to Release Epstein Files

Washington, D.C. - In a surprise move on Wednesday, Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) publicly rejected a White House ultimatum and announced her decision to co-sponsor a bipartisan discharge petition aimed at compelling the Department of Justice to release the full Jeffrey Epstein files.
At a Capitol Hill press conference alongside Representatives Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) and Ro Khanna (D-Calif.), Greene underscored her commitment to transparency for Epstein survivors, declaring, “I’m proud to be signing Thomas Massie’s discharge petition. Even if you view that as a hostile act, view it as a hostile act. I’m signing the petition. Release all of the files.” She emphasized that the “highest volume of calls” to her office has come from constituents demanding that “things not be covered up” and insisted the petition is “about restoring trust in government, protecting America’s kids, and standing with survivors”.
Greene’s announcement comes in direct response to a White House warning that lawmakers who support the petition would be engaging in a “very hostile act” against the administration. Unfazed, she affirmed her willingness to face any consequences, framing her decision as a bipartisan, patriotic effort to force DOJ transparency after more than a decade of secrecy.
Earlier in the day, Greene met privately with survivors of Epstein’s abuse and expressed deep empathy for their quest for justice. “I’m committed to doing everything possible for the victims of Jeffrey Epstein, including exposing the cabal of rich and powerful elites that enabled this,” she told reporters after the meeting, highlighting the bipartisan nature of the resolution.
Greene also used the occasion to call for an investigation into prominent “America First” social media influencers whom she alleges receive undisclosed funding from foreign governments, warning of potential violations of the Foreign Agents Registration Act. She asserted that these influencers must be “held accountable” for any foreign interference in U.S. political discourse.
Her decision to break ranks with both the White House and many in the MAGA movement marks a notable shift for the outspoken firebrand, signaling a rare moment of bipartisan cooperation on Capitol Hill. As the discharge petition gains momentum, Greene affirmed, “This is not partisan. This is patriotic.”
