UK Rock Band Radiohead Announces First Tour in Seven Years

LONDON, Sept 3 (Reuters) - Britain’s Radiohead declared on Wednesday that they will embark on a 20-date European tour this November and December, marking their first live performances since 2018.

Drummer Philip Selway said on Instagram, “Last year, we assembled to practice, purely for fun. After a seven-year hiatus, it was incredibly fulfilling to revisit the songs and reconnect with a musical essence that has become deeply embedded in all five of us”.

The itinerary features four shows each in Madrid, Bologna, London, Copenhagen and Berlin. Tickets will be available exclusively through a registration process on the band’s official website, opening at 10 a.m. BST on Friday, Sept. 5 and closing 72 hours later. General sale follows on Sept. 12.

Radiohead’s lineup-Thom Yorke (vocals, guitar, keyboards), Jonny Greenwood (guitar, keyboards), Ed O’Brien (guitar, backing vocals), Colin Greenwood (bass) and Selway-rose to global prominence with groundbreaking albums such as OK Computer and Kid A in the late 1990s and early 2000s. The upcoming tour follows side-projects by several members, including Yorke and Greenwood’s The Smile and solo releases by Ed O’Brien.
