Rami Malek Spotted Courtside at U.S. Open Amid Star-Studded Lineup

NEW YORK - Oscar-winner Rami Malek made a surprise appearance at Arthur Ashe Stadium on Wednesday night, joining an A-list contingent at the 2025 U.S. Open fourth-round men’s singles match.
Malek, clad in a tailored Ralph Lauren blazer and crisp white shirt, was seated directly beside Vogue’s outgoing editor-in-chief Anna Wintour, who is attending the Grand Slam finale ahead of her planned departure from the fashion magazine later this month. The actor, best known for his Academy Award-winning portrayal of Freddie Mercury in Bohemian Rhapsody, exchanged animated conversation with Wintour as Canada’s Félix Auger-Aliassime defeated Russia’s Andrey Rublev in straight sets.
Just rows ahead, Malek’s fellow Emmy nominee Jeremy Allen White-fresh off the Telluride Film Festival premiere of Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere-joined Malek for intermittent chats between games. White had flown from Telluride earlier that day to catch the New York showdown.
Malek’s presence continued a recent trend of Hollywood talent joining the roster of VIPs at Flushing Meadows, following appearances by Scarlett Johansson, Bradley Cooper and Zendaya earlier in the tournament. With the U.S. Open drawing to its climax this weekend, the actor’s courtside cameo underscores the cross-cultural appeal of tennis among entertainment’s top names.
The 2025 U.S. Open concludes Sunday with men’s and women’s finals at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. Malek is next expected on screen in Sony Classics’ historical drama Nuremberg, slated for a November release.
