Streameast, World’s Largest Illegal Sports Streaming Platform, Shut Down in International Raids

September 3, 2025
In a landmark anti-piracy operation, Streameast-the world’s largest illegal live sports streaming network-was dismantled today in a coordinated effort led by the Alliance for Creativity and Entertainment (ACE) and Egyptian law enforcement. Streameast, which operated across more than 80 domains and amassed over 1.6 billion visits in the past year, has been taken offline, with all affiliated websites now redirecting to ACE’s “Watch Legally” portal.
ACE Chairman Charles Rivkin hailed the shutdown as a “significant triumph” in the battle against digital piracy, noting that the operation “adds to the success for sports leagues, entertainment firms, and fans around the globe.” The coalition, which includes major media companies such as Amazon, Netflix, and Apple TV+, worked closely with Egyptian authorities to identify and seize the infrastructure supporting Streameast’s illicit streams.
As part of the raids, Egyptian police arrested two individuals suspected of operating the platform and confiscated three laptops, four smartphones, several prepaid Visa cards containing approximately $123,000, and cryptocurrency wallets holding around $200,000. Investigators also uncovered a shell company in the UAE believed to have been used to launder millions in advertising revenue generated by the network.
Streameast had offered unauthorized access to top-tier sports leagues worldwide, including Europe’s Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, and Bundesliga, as well as major U.S. leagues like the NFL, NBA, MLB, and NHL. The service also streamed pay-per-view boxing, MMA, and motorsport events, siphoning revenue from rights holders and undermining the legal sports broadcast ecosystem.
Traffic to Streameast’s domains originated primarily from the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, the Philippines, and Germany. ACE has warned fans of “copycat” sites that may attempt to fill the void left by Streameast’s closure and pledged ongoing vigilance to target any emerging piracy networks. The operation underscores the power of international cooperation in protecting intellectual property and serves as a deterrent to digital piracy worldwide.
