Coldplay Ties Wembley Residency Record with Eighth Consecutive Night

London, 4 September 2025 - Coldplay continued their unprecedented ten-night residency at Wembley Stadium tonight, drawing 82,000 fans for the eighth show of their eco-friendly Music of the Spheres World Tour and matching the existing record for most performances at the venue in a single year.
Frontman Chris Martin and his bandmates delivered a 23-song spectacle featuring their signature hits such as “Higher Power,” “Viva la Vida” and “Fix You,” alongside crowd favourites “Yellow” and “Paradise.” The production emphasized sustainability, with biodegradable confetti and solar-powered stages as part of the band’s commitment to reduce tour emissions by over 50%.
The evening’s special guests included Nigerian singer Tems, Palestinian-Chilean artist Elyanna and conductor Gustavo Dudamel leading the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela, all of whom joined Coldplay on stage for orchestral renditions of tracks like “My Universe” and the new single “We Pray.”
With tonight’s performance, Coldplay have now equaled the eight-show Wembley record previously held jointly by Taylor Swift and Take That. Two remaining dates-Saturday 6 September and Friday 12 September-will follow after being rescheduled due to London Underground strikes. Tickets for all ten nights remain valid, and returned seats for the rescheduled dates go on sale 11:00 BST tomorrow via Ticketmaster.
As Coldplay draw closer to setting a new Guinness World Record for most nights played at Wembley Stadium by a single act, fans can expect the finale shows to feature surprise guest appearances and anthemic encores that have become hallmarks of Martin’s band.
