Comedian Druski’s Whiteface NASCAR Skit Sparks Outrage on Social Media

New York, September 4, 2025 - Viral comedian Druski ignited a firestorm online after releasing a satirical skit in which he donned “whiteface” to portray a stereotypical NASCAR fan. The video, posted to his social media channels on September 2, features Druski in full disguise-complete with pale makeup, a farmer’s tan sunburn, denim overalls, a mullet wig and patriotic tattoos-interacting with unsuspecting racegoers at a recent NASCAR event.

In the skit, Druski adopts the persona of an overzealous white American, chanting “Born in the USA” and declaring “I’m white, and I’m proud!” as he mingles with the crowd. Moments later, he is shown spitting at the feet of Black attendees and berating them with racial slurs, prompting a heated debate over whether the sketch is biting social commentary or offensive stereotyping.

Many viewers lauded Druski’s makeup artistry and his commitment to character-driven comedy, noting that few recognized him under the prosthetics. However, critics accused him of perpetuating racist tropes and trivializing the historical context of “whiteface” and on-camera mistreatment of Black audiences.

Druski, 30, whose real name is Drew Desbordes, has built his reputation on uproarious alter egos and hidden-camera pranks. He is followed by over 10 million users on Instagram and has previously gone viral with similar boundary-pushing sketches, including a recent impersonation at a Rod Wave concert. Despite the backlash, his supporters argue that the shock value of his comedy is intended to spark conversation about race and identity in America.

As the debate rages across Twitter and Instagram, sponsors and streaming platforms are monitoring public reaction to decide whether to distance themselves from the comedian or embrace the viral attention. Druski has not yet issued a statement addressing the controversy.
