LEGO Unveils Record-Breaking UCS Death Star Set

Billund, Denmark - 4 September 2025 - Today, the LEGO Group lifted the curtain on its most ambitious and expensive Star Wars set to date: the LEGO® Star Wars™ Death Star™ Ultimate Collector Series (75419). Boasting an unprecedented 9,023 pieces and retailing at $999.99 USD, this new entry redefines the limits of collectible building experiences for fans and adult builders alike.

Unlike previous spherical Death Star models, the UCS Death Star adopts a cross-sectional design, allowing collectors to showcase intricate interior scenes without sacrificing displayability. Key recreations include:

  • Emperor Palpatine’s throne room
  • Princess Leia’s cell
  • The tractor beam control unit
  • The Imperial shuttle hangar
  • The trash compactor sequence

The set also features 38 minifigures, a record for any LEGO Star Wars release, including classic characters such as Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Princess Leia, Darth Vader and Emperor Palpatine, alongside playful nods like a Stormtrooper in a hot tub-an Easter egg inspired by LEGO Star Wars video games.

Availability is scheduled as follows:

  • LEGO Insiders Early Access: 1 October 2025
  • General Release: 4 October 2025 Purchasers during the first week of sale will receive an exclusive TIE Fighter™ Gift With Purchase, while supplies last.

At roughly 20 inches tall, 19 inches wide and 15 inches deep, the UCS Death Star appeals to both die-hard Star Wars aficionados and display-oriented collectors seeking a statement piece. With its combination of scale, detail and price point, this set is poised to become a centerpiece of any LEGO Star Wars collection and cements LEGO’s ongoing commitment to innovation and nostalgia in equal measure.
