President Trump’s LVAD Rumors Continue to Swirl Amid New Viral Video

September 4, 2025
WASHINGTON, D.C. - Unfounded speculation that President Donald J. Trump is wearing a left ventricular assist device (LVAD) under his suit jacket resurfaced again today on social media, fueling fresh conspiracy theories about his health.
Late this morning, a new TikTok clip went viral in which the user “Tarot and Tea” points to a bulge under the president’s jacket during Wednesday’s Oval Office meeting with Polish President Karol Nawrocki and asserts, “That’s an LVAD pump. He’s hiding a mechanical heart.” The video has already amassed over 2.2 million views on TikTok and spurred thousands of reposts on X.
White House physicians have repeatedly dismissed any such claims. Dr. Sean Barbabella, the president’s physician, confirmed in July that Mr. Trump’s only recent diagnosis was chronic venous insufficiency-a benign condition causing leg swelling in many seniors-and that multiple cardiac tests showed no evidence of heart failure or device implantation.
Today, several cardiologists also weighed in on the rumors:
- Dr. Megan Ran of Yale School of Public Health called the claims “medically implausible,” noting that LVAD implantation requires major surgery and a lengthy hospital recovery, which would have been impossible to conceal during the president’s widely photographed appearances on Labor Day weekend.
- Dr. Sanjay Gupta, CNN chief medical correspondent, reiterated on air that no credible evidence supports the presence of an LVAD, adding, “The bulge is most likely fabric bunching or a concealed microphone pack.”
Nonetheless, the #IsHeWearingAnLVAD hashtag trended on X for much of the afternoon, and several conservative influencers echoed the speculation, demanding that the White House release unedited footage from recent events.
In response to the continuing rumors, the White House issued a brief statement this afternoon: “President Trump is in excellent health and has never undergone LVAD surgery. These baseless rumors are another example of the media’s fixation on conspiracies rather than substantive policy discussions.”
As the president prepares to deliver remarks on immigration policy later this week, aides insist his schedule remains unchanged - evidence, they say, that no major medical procedure is pending. Nonetheless, the LVAD conspiracy shows no sign of dying down, illustrating the intense scrutiny and misinformation that have characterized President Trump’s second term.
