Patrick Gibson Announced as Voice of James Bond in New Video Game

New York, Sept. 4, 2025 (UPI) - Irish actor Patrick Gibson, best known for his portrayal of the young Dexter Morgan in Dexter: Original Sin, will lend his voice to the iconic British agent James Bond in the upcoming video game 007: First Light, UPI reported Wednesday.

Gibson took to Instagram to share the announcement and a teaser trailer for the game, saying, “I am thrilled to finally share that I’ll be portraying James Bond in the new game 007: First Light. Collaborating with IO Interactive and Amazon MGM to provide a new perspective on this legendary character’s backstory has been an incredible journey, and I eagerly anticipate everyone getting to experience it.”

Developed by IO Interactive in partnership with Amazon MGM Interactive, 007: First Light serves as an origin story for Bond, tracing his early days as a rookie agent in MI6’s Double-0 program. At 26 years old, Gibson becomes the youngest actor ever to portray Bond in a licensed visual medium, matching his character’s youthful reinvention in the game.

The game is slated for release on March 27, 2026, across PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2. Players will experience Bond’s formative missions and training, offering new insights into his transformation into the world’s most famous secret agent.
