PA Lottery Website Glitch Delays Winning Numbers on Sept. 7

Lead: Pennsylvania Lottery officials reported a technical malfunction on Sept. 7 that prevented publication of today’s winning numbers on the official website, delaying player results statewide.
Nut Graf: The outage affected all draw games-including Pick 2, Pick 3, Powerball and Mega Millions-prompting hundreds of calls to the Lottery’s customer service line and public advisories about alternative methods for checking results.
Delayed Online Updates State Lottery spokesperson Jenna Morales confirmed at midday that an internal server error blocked publication of the Sept. 7 drawing outcomes across all game pages, leaving the “Winning Numbers” section blank on the Pennsylvania Lottery site.
The fault disrupted both desktop and mobile platforms, forcing players to seek results via newspapers, television bulletins and authorized retail terminals.
Customer Impact and Response Morales urged patience and reassured players that official winning numbers would be posted as soon as the system is restored. “No one will lose their winnings due to this delay,” she said, emphasizing that all drawn numbers are securely recorded internally.
Retailers were instructed to print paper results at terminals for customer reference, and the Lottery call center extended hours through the evening to field inquiries.
Technical Investigation Underway Lottery IT officials are conducting a full diagnostic to pinpoint the failure in the content delivery network. Preliminary checks suggest a corrupted database patch deployed overnight may have broken the automated update script.
A full system restart and rollback to a stable build are scheduled for late evening; provisional results may appear on mirror servers beforehand.
Alternative Verification Channels Until the website is restored, players can:
- Visit any authorized PA Lottery retailer to view printed terminal results.
- Tune into local television stations broadcasting draw numbers immediately after each drawing.
- Call the Lottery’s toll-free line at (800) 692-7481 for recorded updates.
All official draw outcomes will be retroactively uploaded to the website, ensuring seamless prize claims despite today’s interruption.
