Streameast NFL Streaming Operation Dismantled Ahead of Season Kickoff

Authorities in Egypt and the anti-piracy coalition Alliance for Creativity and Entertainment (ACE) shut down Streameast, the largest illicit sports streaming network, seizing servers and arresting two suspects on September 3, 2025, just before the NFL season opener.

Streameast’s closure marks a major victory in the fight against digital piracy, as the platform drew more than 1.6 billion visits across 80 mirror domains last year and provided unauthorized live feeds of NFL games to millions worldwide.

ACE Chairman Charles Rivkin hailed the operation as “a significant triumph” in efforts to protect sports leagues, studios and fans from illegal streaming. Egyptian law enforcement confiscated laptops, smartphones, cash and cryptocurrency wallets believed linked to Streameast’s ad-supported revenue scheme.

Despite the takedown, fans and internet sleuths report that dozens of copycat sites and mirror domains have reappeared within days, underscoring the ongoing “whack-a-mole” challenge of shutting down illicit streaming networks. Anti-piracy officials warn that while this action disrupts the largest operation, smaller unauthorized platforms continue to surface.

  • Shuttled to “Watch Legally” pages on ACE’s website, all former Streameast domains now redirect users to information on licensed streaming options; ACE vows continued monitoring to identify and dismantle remaining piracy networks.
