SiriusXM Cancels Howard Stern Show; Andy Cohen to Host New Channel

SiriusXM has officially ended The Howard Stern Show and tapped TV personality Andy Cohen to helm Stern’s former channel, effective September 8, 2025.

The satellite radio giant announced today that it has canceled Howard Stern’s long-running program and will launch a new Andy Cohen-led talk channel on Howard 100, aiming to refresh its lineup and attract a broader audience.

Stern, 71, whose groundbreaking show debuted on SiriusXM in 2006, did not air live today amid protracted contract talks. Instead, SiriusXM confirmed that Cohen, best known for Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live, will take over Howard 100 with a weekday talk format beginning immediately.

SiriusXM President Scott Greenstein praised Cohen’s appointment as “a natural evolution for our flagship channel,” citing his proven ability to engage listeners across platforms. The move comes as Stern’s contract expired at midnight, and negotiations reportedly stalled over salary and creative control.

Fans reacted with surprise and disappointment on social media, with many lamenting the end of an era and questioning SiriusXM’s strategy. “This channel has been the home for uncensored radio for decades,” tweeted one listener. “It won’t be the same without Stern.”

Cohen’s new program will feature celebrity interviews, pop-culture commentary and listener call-ins, mirroring Stern’s interactive style but with a lighter tone. SiriusXM plans to retain several long-time staffers from Stern’s team to ensure continuity.

Industry analysts note that while Stern’s departure marks the close of a transformative chapter in radio, Cohen brings digital savviness and a younger demographic appeal that SiriusXM hopes will drive subscription growth and ad revenue.
