Apple Unveils AirPods Pro 3 With Heart-Rate Sensor and Improved ANC

Apple today introduced the AirPods Pro 3 at its “Awe-Dropping” event in Cupertino, adding a built-in heart-rate monitor, twice-as-effective noise cancellation, live translation and extended battery life.

The latest iteration of Apple’s noise-canceling earbuds elevates personal audio by combining advanced health tracking with superior sound isolation, underlining Apple’s push into wearable fitness and AI-driven features.

Key Features

  • Heart-rate monitoring during workouts via built-in sensors, compatible with the Fitness app on iPhone.
  • Active Noise Cancellation up to 2x stronger than AirPods Pro 2 and 4x stronger than the original model.
  • Live Translation for real-time voice translation in five languages, with text transcription on iPhone.
  • Up to eight hours of listening time with ANC enabled (ten hours in transparency mode).
  • IP57 rating for dust, sweat and water resistance.

Design and Fit

Apple redesigned the in-ear shape and introduced five sizes of foam-infused ear tips for enhanced passive isolation and stability during activities such as running, yoga and HIIT.

Audio Enhancements

A new multiport acoustic architecture and next-generation Adaptive EQ deliver deeper bass, a wider soundstage and clearer vocals, while ultra-low-noise microphones capture ambient sounds for more precise noise cancellation.

Health and Fitness Integration

The AirPods Pro 3 track heart rate, calories burned and over 50 workout types without an Apple Watch. Workout metrics sync directly to the Fitness app, offering an alternative to wrist-worn devices.

Availability and Pricing

Preorders start today for $249 in the US, with shipments beginning September 19. Apple Intelligence-powered features require iOS 26 or later.
