‘Alien: Earth’ Episode 6 Delivers Shocking Deaths and Chaos on Neverland Island

FX’s sci-fi horror series “Alien: Earth” delivered its most disturbing episode yet on September 9, 2025, with Episode 6 “The Fly” featuring multiple character deaths and escaped alien specimens.

The sixth installment of Noah Hawley’s Alien prequel series aired at 8 PM ET on FX and Hulu, marking a pivotal turning point as Prodigy Corporation’s experiments spiral completely out of control. The episode has generated significant buzz for featuring what creator Hawley calls “the most disturbing scene that people will see on television this year”.

Major Character Deaths Rock the Series

Two significant characters met their demise in “The Fly.” Hybrid student Tootles, who had recently chosen the name “Isaac” (Kit Young), was killed by alien specimens after disobeying safety protocols and entering the containment area alone. The character’s death resulted from a combination of innocent mistakes and the cunning manipulation of an alien-infected sheep.

Arthur Sylvia (David Rysdahl) also fell victim to the chaos when character Slightly successfully attached a facehugger to him, following threats from Morrow regarding Slightly’s family.

Alien Sheep Emerges as Unexpected Mastermind

The episode’s most talked-about element involves an alien sheep controlled by the T. Ocellus specimen - an octopus-like creature that burrows into eyeballs and controls host minds. The sheep, infected in previous episodes as part of Prodigy’s experiments, demonstrated unexpected intelligence and malevolent behavior.

“The notion that a sheep, not known for its intellect, could be the mastermind was simply too intriguing,” Hawley explained. Entertainment outlets have dubbed the creature “the woolly Hannibal Lecter” and “the show’s greatest villain”.

Security Failures Lead to Containment Breach

The episode showcased multiple security failures at Prodigy Corporation’s Neverland Island facility. Facehuggers escaped containment, alien specimens broke free from their enclosures, and the facility’s hybrid creations began making fatal errors in judgment.

Boy Kavalier’s absence from the island for just a few hours proved catastrophic, as his carefully constructed experiments unraveled rapidly. The episode demonstrated that even the enhanced strength of the hybrid bodies couldn’t prevent their human-like capacity for mistakes.

Series Reaches Critical Turning Point

“The Fly” represents a major escalation in the series, which premiered on August 12, 2025, and serves as a prequel to the 1979 film “Alien”. The episode brings the story closer to the inevitable chaos that fans have been anticipating since the Xenomorph arrived on Earth.

The series stars Sydney Chandler as hybrid protagonist Wendy, with Timothy Olyphant, Alex Lawther, and Samuel Blenkin in supporting roles. Set in 2120, the show depicts a world controlled by five massive corporations when a Weyland-Yutani research vessel crashes on Earth carrying deadly alien specimens.

Episode 7, titled “Emergence,” is scheduled to air September 16, 2025, continuing the series’ eight-episode first season.
