Andrew Cabot Confirms Divorce Timeline in Wake of Andy Byron Kiss-Cam Scandal

Andrew Cabot, husband of former Astronomer HR chief Kristin Cabot, clarified that he and Kristin were “privately and amicably separated” weeks before her viral kiss-cam embrace with ex-CEO Andy Byron at a Coldplay concert on July 16.

In a statement issued September 8, Cabot explained that the couple’s decision to divorce was already underway prior to that evening, and he hopes the public filing “provides respectful closure” while preserving his family’s privacy.

Cabot, CEO of New England distillery Privateer Rum, emphasized there would be no further public comment as both he and Kristin move forward independently. Kristin Cabot, who resigned as Astronomer’s chief people officer following the scandal, filed for divorce on August 13 in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, according to court documents reported earlier this month.

The kiss-cam incident erupted into a global social media frenzy when Chris Martin quipped, “Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy,” as the pair awkwardly attempted to hide from the jumbotron at Gillette Stadium.
