Caracol Televisión Honors Environmental Champions at 10th Annual Awards

Caracol Televisión celebrated the tenth edition of its Premios Ambientales in Bogotá on Tuesday, recognizing four outstanding conservation initiatives from across Colombia.

The gala underscored Caracol TV’s commitment to sustainability by highlighting projects that protect vital ecosystems and promote community-led environmental stewardship.

This milestone edition reaffirmed the network’s decade-long dedication to environmental causes, offering a platform for public-private collaboration in conservation and raising awareness of Colombia’s ecological challenges.

Winners and Categories

  • Cerrejón (Gran Empresa): Awarded for conserving over 25,000 hectares of tropical dry forest, home to more than 600 fauna species and 140 tree species.
  • Savimbo, Putumayo (Microempresa): Recognized for empowering local farmers through sustainable cacao, coffee, and honey production.
  • Parque Jaime Duque (Organización): Celebrated for its work in condor conservation, contributing to the recovery of Andean condor populations.
  • Aicca Lago de Tota (Comunidad): Honored for citizen science monitoring of bird species around Lake Tota, one of Colombia’s most important wetland habitats.

Programming Update for Football Fans

To accommodate live coverage of the Colombia vs. Venezuela match at the Estadio Monumental in Maturín, Caracol TV’s prime-time schedule was adjusted. Gol Caracol will air the game from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., replacing Noticias Caracol, Karsu, and part of Desafío Siglo XXI; the reality show will resume at 8:30 p.m..
