Naomi Watts Appears on TODAY Show Sharing Menopause Awareness Message

Actress Naomi Watts made an appearance on NBC’s TODAY show this morning, discussing menopause awareness and sharing what she called a “hot flash forecast” with viewers.
The 56-year-old star, known for films like “Mulholland Drive” and “The Ring,” has become an advocate for menopause awareness through her beauty and wellness brand Stripes, which creates products specifically for women in midlife. Her TODAY show appearance continues her mission to normalize conversations around perimenopause and menopause.
Ongoing Personal Milestone
Watts has been in the spotlight recently as she navigates sending her eldest son Sasha Schreiber off to college at USC. The emotional milestone, which occurred in late August, has been circulating in entertainment news today as various outlets continue covering the actress’s family life.
The Academy Award-nominated actress shared tearful photos on Instagram as she said goodbye to her 18-year-old son, writing “Already bawling!” alongside images of their farewell. Watts shares Sasha and 16-year-old daughter Kai with ex-partner Liev Schreiber, and the former couple has maintained an amicable co-parenting relationship.
Reflecting on David Lynch Legacy
Entertainment news today also highlighted Watts’ recent comments about late director David Lynch, who passed away in January 2025. The actress revealed she and fellow Lynch collaborator Laura Dern had lunch with the filmmaker just two months before his death, where he expressed eagerness to return to work.
“He wanted to go back to work - Laura and I were like, ‘You can do it! You could work from the trailer.’ He was not, in any way, done,” Watts told the Los Angeles Times. Lynch launched Watts’ career with 2001’s “Mulholland Drive.”
Current Projects
Watts continues her busy acting schedule, currently filming Ryan Murphy’s “American Love Story” in New York, where she portrays Jackie Kennedy in the series about John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette Kennedy. She was recently spotted at the US Open women’s finals, attending the tournament while taking a break from filming.
The actress also has “The Housewife,” a psychological thriller co-starring Tye Sheridan and Michael Imperioli, which recently secured French distribution rights and is expected to be released in 2026.
