Evergreen High School Shooting Leaves Three Students Critically Injured

A shooter opened fire on the grounds of Evergreen High School in Jefferson County, Colorado, on Wednesday afternoon, injuring three students who were rushed to nearby trauma centers in critical condition.
The incident underscores ongoing concerns over school safety as law enforcement and federal agents continue to investigate the motives and circumstances behind the attack.
Authorities received the first 911 call at 12:24 p.m. local time and secured the campus within minutes, conducting a room-by-room search before confirming there was no ongoing threat.
Injuries and Medical Response All three injured minors were transported to St. Anthony’s Hospital in Lakewood, the closest Level I trauma center, where they remain in critical condition.
Suspect and Investigation Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Jacki Kelley stated that one of the hospitalized students is believed to be the suspected shooter. Agents from the Denver division of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives have joined local law enforcement on site.
School Lockdown and Reunification Evergreen High School entered lockdown immediately after the shooting. Students were reunited with family members at Bergen Meadow Elementary School beginning around 3:00 p.m..
Official Statements Governor Jared Polis affirmed that state troopers are supporting the response and emphasized that “Students should be able to attend school safely and without fear across our state and nation. We are all praying for the victims and the entire community”.
