CD Projekt Red Releases Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 2.31, Enhances AutoDrive and Photo Mode

Lead CD Projekt Red rolled out Patch 2.31 for Cyberpunk 2077 on September 11, 2025, introducing a smoother AutoDrive system, expanded Photo Mode options and a host of bug fixes across quests, world elements and platforms.

Nut Graf Five years after its rocky launch, Cyberpunk 2077 continues to receive regular updates, with Patch 2.31 addressing player-reported issues in core gameplay mechanics and stabilizing the experience ahead of the game’s fifth anniversary.

AutoDrive Improvements

  • Vehicles now drive smoothly to selected waypoints, overtaking obstacles and no longer stopping at red lights.
  • Free Roam mode upgraded to follow traffic rules and navigate reliably through Night City.

Photo Mode Tweaks

  • Most poses added in Update 2.3 now work with any gender.
  • NPC collision disabled to allow positioning characters on objects (e.g., car hoods).
  • Fixed several pose-specific issues affecting select characters.

Quest and Open-World Fixes

  • Freedom: Corrected journal entry when choosing not to steal the Rayfield Caliburn “Mordred.”
  • Motorbreath: Resolved missing follow-up messages, vehicle flipping bugs, quest triggering conditions and acquisition paths for the Yaiba ARV-Q340 Semimaru.
  • Nitro (Youth Energy): Fixed crash after showroom event and UI cutoff in larger HUD mode.

Miscellaneous Updates

  • Resolved localization and lip-sync errors in multiple languages.
  • Added a toggle to disable the vignette filter (Settings → Graphics → Basic).
  • Fixed various issues with Delamain text messages, fluff vendor interactions and ray-traced reflections on PC/Mac.

Platform-Specific Fixes

PC

  • Prevented NVIDIA Reflex from disabling when DLSS Frame Generation is active, avoiding pink screens.
  • Corrected Path Tracing activation quirks.

Mac

  • Aligned Screen Space Reflection presets with PC equivalents.
  • Fixed white screen bug when enabling Frame Generation in braindance sequences.
  • Restored HDR mode toggle behavior and spatial audio settings; removed outdated restart disclaimer.
  • Addressed App Store version breaching screen hang and optimized stability/performance.
