DermaRite Expands Recall of 32 Personal-Care Products Over Bacteria Risk

Lead: DermaRite Industries today voluntarily recalled 32 soaps, lotions, shampoos and sanitizers sold across the U.S. and Puerto Rico after detecting possible Burkholderia cepacia complex contamination.

  • Renew Dimethicone, Periprotect and Skin Repair creams
  • UltraSure antiperspirant/deodorant

Health Risks

Burkholderia cepacia complex can infect open wounds, causing localized infections in healthy users and bloodstream infections or sepsis in those with weakened immunity.

Affected consumers should:

  • Immediately discard impacted products following local regulations
