P-plater Arrested After Porsche Hits Police Car; Unlicensed Driver Injures Officers in Tashkent

SYDNEY, Sept. 12, 2025 - A 48-year-old P-plater was arrested this afternoon after fleeing the scene of a three-car crash involving a stolen Porsche and a police vehicle on Victoria Road at Rozelle.

The incident highlights the risks of unlicensed and impaired driving and follows a separate crash in Tashkent earlier today involving an unlicensed teen driver that injured two traffic police officers.

P-plater Fleeing Stolen Porsche Collides with Police Car

Police on random breath testing duty spotted the stolen Porsche SUV on The Crescent at Annandale around 3:30 p.m. The driver allegedly struck a police car at a service station on Victoria Road as officers approached, then abandoned the vehicle after crashing into two other cars on Darling Street. A Toyota Corolla was wedged between the Porsche and a Volkswagen SUV, drawing onlookers as schoolchildren passed. The driver, who tested positive for cannabis, was taken to St Vincent’s Hospital before being charged with stealing the Porsche, dangerous driving and resisting arrest. He is due in Sydney court today.

Unlicensed Teen Hits Traffic Police Vehicle in Tashkent

At 12:45 a.m. this morning in Chilanzar district, a 17-year-old driving without a licence and licence plates sharply turned from Bunyodkor Street into Cho’pon Ota Street, colliding with a Lacetti service car driven by a traffic police officer. Both drivers suffered minor injuries and received emergency care. Local authorities have launched an investigation into the unlicensed driver’s actions, underscoring the importance of road-safety compliance.
